Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competes at the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her journey as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and beat Suzane Mill in the finals via a majority decision. Antonina followed it up and was awarded a silver medal in 2007 a bronze medal in 2008, and then a gold in 2011, and was the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003. She won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas, who was a participant at Phoenix Fighting Championship. It was an unanimous decision to win. Antonina Shevchenko broke her professional MMA record in 2002 when she fought at the KFK cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She prevailed in the second-round TKO as well as winning her following two bouts at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003, accumulating a record of 3-3-0. Shevchenko put on a pause from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing and returned to the ring to fight Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 by the same decision. In 2018, she left the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's superior strike skills let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. After this win, Antonina was offered a UFC contract. Antonina took part in her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi by a split-decision fight after winning the first fight by unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from her defeat to knock out Lucie Pudilova via rear-naked choking submission in the 2nd round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned her second fight of the night in this match. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her following three fights. Shevchenko winning against Ariane Lipski before losing to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee.
